Skin camouflage
Careful pigment matching to help a scar or mark blend more naturally with the skin around it.
What it is
Skin camouflage is a specialist paramedical tattooing technique. Pigments are custom-matched to your surrounding skin tone and applied to the treated area so a scar, stretch mark or pigment difference blends more naturally with the skin around it.
It is precise, considered work. The right pigment blend, needle approach and plan can only be decided after seeing your skin in person, which is why every plan starts with an in-person assessment.
Common concerns it can help with
- Surgical scars, including C-section scars
- Injury and accident scars
- Stretch marks that sit lighter or darker than your skin tone
- Self-harm scars, treated with complete discretion and care
- Other marks or pigment differences, assessed case by case
The process
- Consultation and assessment. We look at the size, colour, age and type of the area, your skin tone, and how your skin is likely to respond.
- Pigment matching and first treatment. Your first session doubles as an assessment of how your skin takes pigment.
- A personalised plan. Most camouflage plans involve several sessions, usually spaced around six weeks apart, so results build gradually and naturally.
Duration and aftercare
Appointments run from around 30 minutes for a small area up to several hours for larger areas. There is minimal downtime for most people, though the area needs care while it heals. You will leave with clear, written aftercare instructions.
